How to save MONEY when shopping at Amazon

*post may contain affiliate links

I think that everyone can agree that Amazon is an easy and cost effective way to shop from the comfort of your own home. But did you know that there are ways that you can save even more money? One of the best ways to cut costs is to be a Prime Member. You can sign up for a 30 day free trial to check it out, then pay $12.99 per month or $119 for a year. If you receive EBT/SNAP benefits of Medicaid you may be eligible for a discounted membership of just $5.99 a month. Students with a new account can get a 6 month free trial then just pay $6.49 a month or $59 a year with a Student Membership.

Having a membership allows you to purchase what you need, when you need it without a minimum purchase amount, many items arriving within 1-2 days. You can watch their Prime Video which includes thousands of shows and movies at no additional cost.

When choosing shipping speed there are times when offered the option to have it shipped at at a later date, often 5-7 days later, and there may be a promotional credit offered when you choose this option. Right now there are $1-$3 digital credits you can receive and use them on renting movies and purchasing ebooks. I do this often and save up my credits to rent movies for family movie night.

Another hidden gem is Amazon Pantry. Have you heard of it? If not, you NEED to check it out. It is different than your regular Prime benefits. It is more essential items that they offer at a reduced cost but you have to have a $35 minimum or pay $5.99 for shipping. Many items have discounts and coupons too. You can fill a box up with food, toiletries, cleaning supplies, etc and save money and have it delivered right to your door! If you are needing these household and food items, check out Amazon Pantry to see if it is less expensive and fill up a box!

Amazon also has Warehouse deals that can save you a small fortune! These items are typically items that have damaged boxes, scratch and dent or food that expires soon. Read the description carefully and you can score some new items for a fraction of the cost!

Another fun place to shop is Amazon Outlet. These are clearance and heavily discounted new items. There are so many fantastic deals for dirt cheap!!!

Subscribe & Save is a favorite option of mine. Select items will have the option of a one time purchase or choosing Subscribe & Save and choosing to have it delivered at regular intervals with a 5-15% discount. Some items even have additional coupons on first time purchases. If you choose Subscribe & Save and choose to cancel after your first order, it is simple to do, so you are not obligated to continue with future deliveries. If you do continue to receive them you will receive the 5-15% off depending on how many items you subscribe to each month. When you subscribe to 5 or more items you save more!

One of the best ways to save money is to clip any available coupons, shop Lightning Deals, and use coupon codes. Some codes will be listed by the price of the item. Sometimes these deals are harder to find or are exclusively given to affiliates. But don't worry, we've got you covered!!!
